The last time I updated my profile on LinkedIn it was 2013. Time flies and situations change! This time dramatically and for the better. ALR Transcription Services has evolved into something I never dreamed of in the past. Do we still do traditional transcription within 24 turnaround time with exceptional rates? Of course we do. However, the landscape of medical records has changed and so have we. 75% of our business is now not only transcribing, but entering into physicians’ electronic medical records. We not only type up the HPI, but we abstract discrete data and add and maintain problem lists, medication lists, past medical history, past surgical history, social history, family history, allergies, review of systems, physical exams, diagnoses codes, assessments and plans. We have extensively trained our staff to be medical record specialists thereby freeing up physicians and their staff to care for patients. I cannot tell you how pleased I am to be able to offer this service. Physicians love it, office managers love it and the office staff loves it. Are we going to be evolving more? I am sure of it.
