About Yabo (Arber) Xu
I was an associate professor in School of Software, Sun Yat-sen University. And now I am working on a big data startup - Datastory as as the founder and CEO. This startup journey was started right after I reresigned from my faculty job. I earned my Ph.D in Computer Science, Simon Fraser University, Canada in 2008. My general research interests include large-scale data mining problems, cloud computing infrastructure, web search and information privacy. I have published 30+ academic papers on the aforementioned topics in various refereed conferences and journals.Besides the passions on research, I also have a keen interest on real-life applications, and in particular, turning academic ideas into successful products.Specialties: *large scale of data mining problems*cloud computing infrastructure (hadoop/storm/spark)*web search and indexing*information privacy
