I worked full-time (40 hrs/ week) as an Accounts Receivable (A/R) Specialist. I worked on two insurance based teams where I researched and analyzed accounts to resolve payment barriers in the insurance adjudication process. I achieved high ratings on all quality assurance assessments. Also, I used organizational and problem solving skills to ensure I met productivity goals daily while developing a sound knowledge of claim procedures. I then worked on a self-pay based team where I answered and placed calls to patients to assist in resolving account balances. I utilized excellent communication skills while answering customer queries. I currently work on a team supporting all self-pay teams; where my current specific duties include: resolving client system balance discrepancies (reconciliation), processing incoming mail correspondence and forwarding to our clients, reviewing system credits and payment posting issues and forwarding findings onto clients. In the past I have reviewed and posted system adjustments as needed, billed insurance and reviewed insurance inquiries, and completed HIPAA checks and mailed correspondence to patients. I worked full-time (40 hrs/week) as a para-educator in a trial program (temporary job) called School Within A School (SWS). The students were in the program to benefit from the smaller class sizes and one-on-one attention, as well as to learn better behaviors within the classroom. I assisted two teachers throughout the day in their classrooms by working with the students and helping them with their day to day school work. I also was there for the students as someone to talk to about their problems and offer them advice where I demonstrated leadership and role model skills.

I worked with children and adults affected by epilepsy, autism, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy, ADHD, brain injury, and various others in hopes to improving their quality of life. As a lead staff I was in command when our supervisor was not present. I am responsible for staff assignments (assigning staff to children), activity and field trip planning, leading activites (directing children and staff), coordinating transitions between activities, correcting staff paperwork, opening and closing the building, dispensing medication to children, communicating with parents/caregivers, communicating with staff (such as answering questions and expressing expectations), answering the phone, conflict resolution (managing child behaviors and staff conflicts), coordinating and communicating with my supervisor, managing money, and many other duties as well.

As a CNA at Northbrook I cared for the elderly. I worked in the call center and I was responsible for calling Mount Mercy Alumni and Alumni families and persuading them to give a donation for the improvement of the College which was then in the process of becoming a University.
