I am involved with Antenne D’ Ecoute since November 2011; it is an organization which has close ties with the Luxembourg government and the Portugal Embassy. It was founded in March 2008 by the association of Luxembourg - Portugal ( asbl). Its mission is to provide moral support to a population of immigrants who have difficulty in expressing themselves in Luxembourg / suffering from psychological issues due to immigration. Since it's inception it has focused on clients with psychological issues and with legal complications who are being referred to our organisation. Our team is multilingual (French, German, Portugal, Italian, Spanish, English, Hindi) Non-pharmacological interventions are the key functions of this organization. I practice evidence based psychotherapy adapting an eclectic approach to clients with acute to chronic problems.I am working with refugees & immigrants, clients with clinical disorders e.g.; psychosis, depression, substance abuse, marital discord and adjustment problems. I have also worked with families from whom the children have been separated and raised in a foyer due to non-conducive home environment. Home visits and naturalistic observation is also necessary at times. Regular group meetings with other psychologists, lawyers, foyer representatives will be held to discuss the progress & problems of each case. Technically, I practice Cognitive behaviour therapy, Behaviour therapy, Relaxation techniques etc., basically to provide a specific disorder intervention.As a part of my job profile I have also conducted workshops for Women’s Alcoholics Group (Luxembourg) on Stress Management and Emotional Intelligence. A proposal to the European Investment Bank (EIB) has been given by Antenne D’ Ecoute for me to conduct workshops for the bank employees too.

I was working as a Clinical Psychologist (Lecturer) for Dept. Of Psychiatry, Christian Medical College and Hospital (CMCH) ,Vellore. I worked under the mentorship of Dr K.S.Jacob, a renowned Psychiatrist in India and abroad. It is a 120-bed tertiary referral centre managing adults and children .The centre treats patients with a variety of disorders including organic mental disorders, schizophrenia, affective illness, substance dependence, anxiety & adjustment disorders. The centre employs a multidisciplinary approach.Psychiatrists, Clinical Psychologists, Psychiatric Social Workers, Psychiatric Nurses, Occupational Therapist, Speech Therapists, Special Educators work as a team to provide care.500 – 600 out-patients are seen every day. I had to assess and implement management plans, integrating biological, psychological and social interventions according to the needs of each individual patient’s socio-cultural background. I had significant experience in dealing with the impact of psychiatric disorder and its’ psychological treatment, on the patient, families and carers; the ability to maintain a therapeutic alliance, utilizing an understanding, empathic and supportive approach for each individual with the concept of family participation in the care of mental illnesses.This arrangement ensures the family is helped to care for &look after the patient, & to help in the rehabilitation that can be then transferred to their actual home. I have significant experience in cognitive, behaviour and brief dynamic techniques of psychotherapy as relevant to the socio-cultural environment. I have practised individual, family & sex therapy. I was actively involved towards teaching programmes for PG registrars doing M.D & D.P.M in Psychiatry, M.Sc Nursing,Bachelors in Occupational Therapy and Ophthalmology. I also had to administer IQ assessments, projective techniques, personality tests and Neuropsychological assessments for Dept of Psychiatry and Dept of Neurology.
