Utilita is a domestic and business energy retailer in the UK, concentrating on the delivery of smart meters and leading the way in customer centric innovation. The Pricing team sits within the Hedging, Pricing and Analytics department and is responsible for balancing commercial viability and regulatory compliance whilst ensuring a strong customer focus. As the Pricing And Tariff Manager, I direct a specialised team focused on delivering the full life cycle of Utilita’s products. Beginning with analysing new market opportunities and price determination through to implementation, ensuring products are market ready in a timely manner. This demands a variety of well-developed skills and techniques, both analytical and intuitive to carry out the following: • Recommend, review and enact both tactical and strategic pricing and new product or market opportunities that meet business goals. • Balance what is commercially optimal and customer focused whilst meeting risk and regulatory requirements. • Deliver a varied suite of products to market, ensuring competing deadlines are met whilst operating in a fast-moving and competitive environment. • Ensuring efficiency is at the forefront of process and product design and review.• Personal development focused leadership ensuring team member skills are fully utilised, challenged and developed on a daily basis.

As the Senior Pricing Analyst, my main duties and responsibilities were to employ a variety of techniques, both analytical and intuitive and a well-developed understanding of consumer behaviour to carry out the following: • Review and enact both tactical and strategic pricing and new product or market opportunities that meet business goals. • Balance what is commercially optimal and customer focussed whilst meeting risk and regulatory requirements. • Deliver multiple products to market simultaneously with competing deadlines in a fast-moving and competitive environment.

Working in the Tariff Implementation team I am responsible for delivering SSE’s retail energy and telecoms tariffs to market.Engaging multiple stakeholders throughout the business, I work to tight project deadlines to ensure the economic elements of tariffs are optimised and operationally delivered to market. The EIO offers an environmentally weighted financial index as an alternative, redirecting investment capital towards the world’s more environmentally conscious companies. Laying the foundation for this innovative index are annual rankings of listed companies based on the quantity and transparency of their reported CO₂ emissions. Archie’s role in 2014 & 2016 and was to work alongside a network of global analysts to solve issues and overcome data discrepancies, compiling the rankings of 1300 companies. This requires patience, due-diligence, a strong attention to detail and established data analysis. Activities include:- Problem solving- Identifying and categorising scope 1, 2 and 3 CO₂ emissions- Process developmentIn 2014 Archie was awarded the status of ‘Master Carbon Data Analyst’ after winning a competition based on the quantity and quality of the analysis he carried out.
