During my tenure at Mahindra, I studied the different methods of process development and lean manufacturing like Total Productive Maintenance, Value Stream Mapping, Design of Experiments, etc. More specifically, I remodeled the manufacturing line for the Synchro-Sleeve to reduce the lead time by 35.71% using Value Stream Mapping. With the implementation of proposed plan, we achieved inventory reduction on the shop floor by 22.75% and machining time reduction of Synchro-Sleeve by 36 sec/cycle. Moreover, I investigated and corrected the defects in the spot welding process using Design of Experiments and Root cause analysis. With some modifications in fixtures and tooling, I improved the strength of the welded joint by 34.72%.
