“I believe it’s time that women truly owned their superpowers and used their beauty and strength to change the world around them.”- Janelle MonaeMy name is Arden Joy; I am a wife, mom, travel influencer, and novel writer with a penchant for adventure, yoga, high heels, the oxford comma, and words like penchant.As the founder and executive director of Her Adventures, an award winning community radically redefining travel to be inclusive, sustainable, and empowering, I get the opportunity to help women explore beyond their boundaries every day. At Her Adventures, I lead a team of 35 volunteers and manage our brand and media partnerships.Traveling for the first time was a transformational experience for me that opened my eyes to my own strength and the commonalities we all share. And it turns out, I'm not alone. More than 70% of women say travel makes them stronger and over 80% say it makes them more empathetic. But I learned that I wasn't alone in another way -- many women, have barriers that make it difficult or even impossible to travel. Not just because of money, like me, but for all kinds of reasons like safety, discriminiation, and access. So in 2011, I decided to launch Her Adventures - Girls Who Travel at that time. What started as a female-focused travel blog, has now becoming a vast online support system of tools and communities that is literally changing the face of the travel industry.I am proud of having built a diverse, inclusive, and multicultural team and an empathetic community where women can connect and share knowledge, experiences with one another in hopes that their words and actions can inspire others and, more importantly, uplift them without experiencing harassment, inequality, or violence.Being a high-energy leader, consistently rewarded for cutting through complexities, building organizations from the ground up, and empowering women to travel the world educated and safely, I am recognized for moving from innovative ideas to tangible results, bringing focus and enthusiasm to every activity, connecting the dots to make things happen.My work has proven results➜Meta's 21 inspiring leaders of 2021.➜ Author of "Keep This Off The Record," an LGBTQ romantic comedy, coming January 2024.I am on LinkedIn to strengthen business relationships and make new connections.
