5 West is a 36 bed unit (all private rooms) that operates 24 hours per day, 7 days per week and provides care to adults. The primary types of patients cared for are chronic and acute renal failure, stroke, and telemetry patients. The primary medical patients include pneumonia, congestive heart failure, and CVA. 5 West is our primary stroke unit. The RNs on this unit are NIH Stroke certified. There are four Bariatric rooms and four negative pressure rooms on the unit.
