I acquire and edit middle grade and young adult novels in all genres.

I acquire and edit books for ages 0-18, focusing on middle-grade and YA science fiction, fantasy, horror, contemporary romance, and graphic novels as well as mind/body/spirit, science, and art books.

I plan and execute publicity and marketing campaigns for books in multiple genres such as crafts, DIY, children's picture books, middle-grade fiction, memoir, biography, and media tie-ins. As a part of the publicity and marketing team, my duties include (but are not limited to) buying print and digital advertising, designing promotional materials, conference planning, arranging school visits, coordinating travel for staff and authors, budget management, establishing and maintaining relationships with top media, working with the team on social media campaigns, writing copy, writing press releases, and author care.

Assisted the editor with organization of the online publication, Communication Currents, for the National Communication Association. I also worked closely with the IT professionals to ensure consistency in brand and to help maintain the site. I chose images and edited links for each article as well.

As a lecturer in Communication Studies, I have taught labs for Comm 150 (Intro to Human Communication) and lectures for both Comm 150 and Comm 250 (Public Speaking). Additionally, I serve as an active member of the Basic Courses committee and the Comm 150 and 250 sub-committees. Recently, I was instrumental in the rewrite of the Comm 150 course and its accompanying handbook. I also proposed and taught a new elective course on desktop publishing and designing for print publication.
