Alberto is a multifaceted professional with a rich background in journalism, writing, and corporate communications consulting. His career took off at the Spanish news agency EFE in Buenos Aires, where he served as correspondent. His journalistic journey saw him moving through various roles and locations, from a correspondent for Reuters in Buenos Aires (1987-1989), to Bogotá (1989-1992), and later Caracas (until 1994).In April 1994, Alberto's expertise led him to become the editor-in-chief of Reuters for Latin America, based in Miami. His trajectory then took a turn towards corporate communications, when in November 1997, he was appointed Vice President at the global PR agency Fleishman-Hillard in Miami. This was followed by a stint at Citigate Dewe Rogerson in New York in 1999.By June 2000, Alberto had ascended to Senior Manager of Public Relations at Cisco Systems for Latin America. His career continued in June 2007, when he embarked on a significant role at Google as the Director of Global Communications and Public Affairs for Latin America, a position he held until May 2012. Subsequently, from May 2013 to July 2014, he led Facebook's Corporate Communications for Latin America.Alberto is also a published author, having written "The Horizontal Revolution: The Power of Communication in the Hands of the People" in 2009. The book delves into the transformative power of communication with the advent of the internet, social media, and new technologies.
