I specialize in Soft Matter Physics, focusing on studying mechanical metamaterials since 2018. Metamaterials are composed of rationally designed building blocks that offer distinct mechanical properties compared to traditional materials. My work involves experiments, analysis, and theoretical exploration. Using CAD software, I design these materials and 3D print them for testing. I use equipment like rheometers to compress and twist them, observing how they react, and I exploit data analysis and visualization tools to interpret our observations. I also investigate these materials using models, like replicating them as networks of springs. This enables me to understand the mechanical properties of the system comprehensively via theory and numerical analysis.
