I am a passionate researcher with an M.Sc. in Biochemistry, and over ten years’ experience in academic and industry research facilities. From an early age, I’ve always loved solving puzzles. Science became the perfect outlet for that curiosity. I love working on projects where each experiment or dataset becomes a new puzzle piece to the bigger picture. As the puzzle starts to come together, you get a better understand of the story behind the nature of specific genes, or how cells react to stresses, or proteins interact to signal complex pathways. I love the dynamic and challenging environment that research provides. I am currently responsible for designing and executing a wide range of sequencing projects. This includes advising on the overall approach, carrying out the bench-work, and running/maintaining the sequencing equipment itself. I am also building on my Linux and Python skills for reviewing the data and using computational biology tools to derive meaningful results from the data.Other roles:- Currently taking university level computer science courses to build my skills, including bioinformatics, artificial intelligence, and machine learning. - Research manager responsible for managing several molecular genetic projects simultaneously, training other scientists, general lab management, - Worked on a team developing a diagnostic antibody-based ELISA assay- Several scientific publications in high-impact journals, presentations at international conferences, and multiple scholarships.Areas of expertise:NGS-sequencing, genotyping, sequencing library preparation, Python and Linux scripting, molecular genetics, protein expression and purification, immunoblotting, aseptic cell culture, SOP development, lab management, and lab safety/biosafety.
