I am an Assistant Professor of Geo-Information Science at Wageningen University, specializing in the development of geographic information systems (GIS) with a focus on spatial analysis and modeling. My research primarily involves analyzing, modeling, and simulating the complex relationships between human decision-making and environmental change. The tools I use include GIS, Agent-Based Modeling, Companion Modeling, and Serious Gaming techniques.I teach GIS, Spatial Modeling, and Data Science in the Master of Geo-Information (MGI) program at Wageningen University. Additionally, I coordinate courses in the Geo-Information and Management (GIMA) program, a joint degree offered by Utrecht University, Delft University, the University of Twente, and Wageningen University. I also serve on the exam committees for Social Geography and Planning at Utrecht University and the Master's program in Metropolitan Analysis, Design, and Engineering, an interdisciplinary program of Delft University of Technology and Wageningen University & Research.Beyond my academic duties, I coordinate a group of motivated trainees at Wageningen Research. Our team focuses on the transition of agriculture in the Netherlands, addressing complex issues related to nitrogen, water quality, nature, and climate change through an integrated approach.In my limited free time, I work as a professional sports masseur/therapist at Thermen Bussloo and am a long-distance runner.
