De Wmo-raad adviseert het College van Burgemeester en Wethouders van Gemeente Barendrecht over het (voorgenomen) sociaal beleid. De adviesraad bestaat uit ongeveer 22 betrokken en ervaringsdeskundige inwoners en adviseert niet alleen over zorg en ondersteuning (Wmo), maar ook over jeugd(hulp)beleid, participatie en inkomen, inclusie en toegankelijkheid.Uitgangspunt is dat het niet alleen gaat om beleid binnen het sociaal domein, maar dat al het beleid sociaal moet zijn. Gebouwen en verkeerssituaties moeten voor iedereen ‘te doen’ zijn, een veilig en leefbaar woonklimaat verhoogt ook het welzijn van inwoners en als je graag wilt meedoen, moeten anderen je ook láten meedoen.

De Barendrechtse Uitdaging heeft zijn nut én adequate werkwijze de afgelopen jaren bewezen, waarbij het 'matchen' van vraag en aanbod tussen bedrijfsleven en maatschappelijke organisaties en initiatieven centraal staat. Vanaf de start droeg ik de Barendrechtse Uitdaging een warm hart toe en hielp ik onder meer met de eerste 'matches'. In mei 2019 stelde initiatiefneemster en manager Linda Sanders mij ineens een vraag: "Gek eigenlijk dat ik dit nooit eerder heb gevraagd, maar zou je misschien ambassadeur willen worden?" Natuurgoed Ziedewij is een multifunctioneel gebied in ontwikkeling. In het gebied is ruimte voor cultuur en recreatie, een voedselbos en eco-akkers, ecolodges en polderwoningen. Het gebied is vrij toegankelijk en biedt ruimte voor bijvoorbeeld het Minifestival aan de Dijk, dat in 2016 voor de vijfde maal plaatsvond.Binnen het bestuur ben ik verantwoordelijk voor de financiën.

Visitaties van nieuwe opleidingen en instellingen in hoger (beroeps)onderwijs ten behoeve van accreditatie.Eerder visiteerde ik namens Netherlands Quality Agency in opdracht van de NVAO reeds bestaande opleidingen (o.a. Social Work, Accountancy, Assurantiën, Bedrijfseconomie, Rechten), die eens in de zes jaar opnieuw geaccrediteerd worden.

Stichting Welzijn Albrandswaard (SWA) is een brede welzijnsorganisatie in de gemeente Albrandswaard. Gemeente Barendrecht werkt ambtelijk samen met Gemeente Albrandswaard en de leden van Stichting Welzijn Albrandswaard zijn dezelfde als die van Stichting KijkopWelzijn in Barendrecht.

Participatiemanager supports people and groups who have problems with participation in society due to several reasons. Participatiemanager supports those people developing their social skills, provides and uses relevant networks, facilities and otherwise and therefore helps those people gaining a full-fledged level of participation. Participatiemanager works with immigrants, (potential) school drop outs, elderly and those who try to find (back) their places on labour market. Participatiemanager provides project management, research and advise to organizations working in the field of participation work and/or policy (i.e. local governments and welfare organizations).Participatiemanager mainly works in The Netherlands.

Ontwikkeling en implementatie Meldpunt Sociaal Domein en Knelpuntencoaches. Uitgangspunt is dat mensen laagdrempelig kunnen melden als zij vastlopen in het aanbod of de organisatie van zorg en ondersteuning of zich zorgen maken over de zorg en ondersteuning van henzelf, hun buren of hun cliënten. Knelpuntencoaches helpen vanuit het perspectief van de inwoner om een snelle en adequate oplossing te organiseren.Knelpuntencoaches adviseren over structurele knelpunten en hebben als doel om de organisatie binnen het sociaal domein mee te nemen in de richting van excellente dienstverlening.

Ondersteuning van Eerste Kamerleden (GroenLinks) op het gebied van inhoudelijke voorbereiding en communicatie.

"Platform Wmo" is a policy advising institution and pro-active think tank existing of field workers in the area of local social participation. My main areas of expertise are: elderly and volunteers (active citizens).

As trainer/workshop leader/coach I develop knowledge and skills on participation and communication issues. Following trainings I have given recently:- Campaigning using social media- Rights and duties for co-managing students- Personal profiling using social media- Networking (in co-operation with Faculty Dean Utrecht UAS)- Personal branding- Leadership, viral change and motivation (in co-operation with Lucas van Gils)

Researching the current state of the bachelorstudy Community Development in the Netherlands, commissioned by Landelijk Opleidingsoverleg CMV (National Committee for the bachelorstudy Community Development), in co-operation with Frank Quist and Maarten Starrenburg.

Project Leader Road Show Sustainable Mobility, organizing and coordinating a roadshow to introduce electric cars, scooters and bikes to employees of Utrecht UAS. Afterwards I was asked to coordinate the production of a video interview with users of electric bikes (still running).I worked directly for the Program Manager Sustainability of Utrecht UAS.

"Vereniging MUST" is the union of co-managing students of Utrecht University of Applied Sciences. As chairman I was spokesman and responsible for internal and long term policies, sponsor policies and the elections of co-managing students of Utrecht UAS (in 2011 we won 10 out of 10 student seat in the central board of co-managing).Approximately 37.000 students study at Utrecht University of Applied Sciences. Utrecht UAS has 3.750 employees.

Each faculty of Utrecht University of Applied Sciences has a so called Ambassador of Education Committees (ECs). As an Ambassador it is my task to support and coach ECs in doing their work. I also communicate signals from the faculty and its ECs to the "Coach Bestuurlijke Participatie Studenten" and vice versa.I had to convince former head of the OC Breed (a board existing of all EC's of our faculty, discussing overall issues) it would be better to resign (due to lots of complaints and decreasing effect in OC Breed). Afterwards I had to find and support new heads of OC Breed. I am proud of how they developed OC Breed in only one year.

The Education Committee CMV / Social Management (EC) is the co-managing institution of students. The EC advises the Education Manager on educational matters and initiates new policies which improve quality of education.One of my main goals was to develop continuity. I initiated following solutions:- Our year plan needs to be read and signed by the education manager. The manager thereby makes himself coresponsible.- In 2012 we organized a weekend in which old members handed over their knowledge and tasks to new members. Together we wrote the yearplan. We also invited the education union to increase co-operation between both organizations.- We decided not to stay members until we graduate as mostly members are less focused in that period. We made ourselves find new members at least half a year before our own departure. We succeeded.- I resigned for my function as chairman half a year before my departure so that the new chairman could grow into his role having me (as member) and experienced board members around him.

EC's usually fall sometimes apart when members suddenly resign when they graduate. At the time chairman Frank Quist had to restart the EC from scratch. I helped Frank structuring the committee's work processes.

In the Netherlands around 200.000 elder people are extremely loneIy. They are visited only once in four weeks. Nationaal Ouderenfonds provides help for elder people in need.As a Projectmanager Knowledge Centre I provide information for local welfare organisations and groups on elderly issues. I stimulate information exchange between social workers and help them improve their professional skills. I also initiate and coordinate scientifical research on social interventions such as BoodschappenPlusBus, social isolation and loneliness among elderly.

Stichting Stade is a local welfare organisation with several projects on local welfare. Where possible it operates in the whole area of the city of Utrecht.I started as policy advisor and personal assistent to the director. I organized the moving of 70 employees to another office and between offices.Later on I was coordionator of following projects:- Algemene Hulpdienst (AHD, organized neighbour help): volunteers help other citizens out, for example: doing groceries, fixing lamps, conversating (against loneliness).- BoodschappenPlusBus Utrecht (BPB): elderly mostly aren't able to do groceries on their own anymore (due to fysical problems). Therefore they easily become lonely. BPB offers them volunteers to help them go to the mall and carry their bags. BPB also offered outings so that they were able to come out of their houses and meet other people.
