Hey! I'm Emilia! 🏳️‍🌈 A web developer and home lab nerd who has been coding for 14 years and using Linux for 15. You could say I'm involved in all sorts of projects of my own, having run all sorts of things, and that I love web development, learning technologies, improving user experience, and fixing accessibility issues.Started coding and using Linux in 2009, wanting to run servers and write my own websites. And after that it sort of went downhill. 😅Since then, I've been doing web development with a passion for accessibility and user experience, with a side of operations. Working with JavaScript development, using React with frameworks such as Next.js. Wrangling data with state managers such as Redux and SWR. Hooking into authentication with Auth.js. And building responsive UIs with MUI.All whilst also consulting for companies to evaluate their web accessibility and compliance with regulations, as well as helping educate their internal teams on proper use of web technologies. 🙌Now I'm a IAAP CPACC certified web developer with almost 6 years of professional experience working with users and customers alike, and seek new challenges to take my expertise even further. 💪

  • Co-lead a team to re-architect a large platform consisting of multiple large applications (pre-historic package.json) to a modern framework (Next.js, SWR, Auth.js, MUI) using a monorepo architecture, which led to 50% faster build times, a 30% decrease in lines of code, and a significant reduction in code complexity and application errors• Conceptualized and engineered an application integration using websockets for external connections, and UDP messages to relay to the local network. This made an integration possible, where it was thought implausible, leading to a satisfied customer• Evaluated and assessed numerous large-scale platforms from a web/native compliance standpoint (WCAG, EN 301 549) in order to comply with national, EU, and foreign accessibility regulations, as well as to educate companies’ internal teams on proper use of web technologies• Coordinated migration of separate backend and frontend platforms with regard to GDPR compliance by surveying new platforms, and then assisting backend and frontend developers with the technical aspects of a migration (data migration, storage configuration, automation, and DNS).
