I am a social science researcher with a Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences Research. I have six years of experience working as a researcher at the Imam Ali Society, a non-governmental organization that aims to improve the lives of marginalized children in Iran. My area of expertise is studying child labor and the harms caused by work at a young age and their working environments. I also focus on the role of their families in initiating these children’s activities on the streets. In my research within this society, I discovered the high rates of sexual abuse among children in their working environments, and that Qom city ranks third in terms of child labor abuse in unsafe working environments nationwide. This finding was published in the Journal of Social Issues. Currently, I am independently studying the role of mothers in initiating street activities for children. I am interested in exploring the factors that influence mothers’ decisions to send their children to work, and the impact of these decisions on the children’s well-being and development. I hope to contribute to the prevention and reduction of child labor in Iran and beyond.
