As a researcher in the Department of Applied Physics, Pharmaceutical Physics Group, I am currently working part-time (25%) as a university employee, collaborating with 3AW Company to produce modified porous silicon for use in water filters. My work involves developing and testing materials to enable on-site measurement of low metal concentrations in water sources. Specifically, I am focused on modifying porous silicon using bisphosphonate compounds to create highly selective filters for detecting metals in environmental water samples. My work involves a range of techniques, including material synthesis, surface modification, and characterization using scanning electron microscopy and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. Through this work, I am contributing to the development of novel technologies to address pressing environmental challenges related to water quality and metal pollution.

Finland

As an early stage researcher in the Department of Applied Physics, Pharmaceutical Physics Group, I worked on a PhD project focused on the extraction of scandium from Rautalampi ore solution using modified porous silicon. My work involved developing and testing materials to enable highly selective extraction of scandium from ore leachate solutions. Specifically, I investigated the use of bisphosphonate-modified porous silicon as a highly selective sorbent for scandium ions. My work involved a range of techniques, including material synthesis, surface modification, and characterization using scanning electron microscopy and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. Through this work, I gained expertise in the areas of hydrometallurgy, materials science, and nanotechnology, and contributed to the development of novel approaches for metal extraction and recovery.

Zanjan, Iran

As a technical lead in the mining industry, I was responsible for monitoring compliance with the obligations of the mining operation license and ensuring workplace and personnel safety. My duties included conducting regular safety inspections and implementing measures to mitigate potential safety hazards. Additionally, I prepared reports on mine technical extraction performance, analyzing data on mining equipment, production efficiency, and environmental impact. Through this work, I gained expertise in mining operations management, safety protocols, and data analysis. My focus on continuous improvement helped to optimize mining processes and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, ultimately contributing to the success of mining operations.

Iran

As a project researcher in the Research and Development unit, I specialized in hydrometallurgy and worked on various projects focused on the recovery of metals from zinc plant waste. My work involved developing and implementing methods for extracting metals from waste streams using a range of hydrometallurgical techniques, such as leaching, solvent extraction, and electrowinning. Specific projects included the recovery of cobalt from zinc plant waste (cobalt cake), as well as the recovery of manganese, sodium, zinc, nickel, and cadmium as byproducts during cobalt recovery. I also developed methods for the recovery of nickel from nickel-cadmium cake, using a solvent extraction process with LIX98 ligand to produce high-purity (99.99%) Ni sheets. Additionally, I worked on projects focused on chlorine removal in zinc production factories from industrial soils and zinc slag, as well as the recovery of cobalt ions adsorbed on clay minerals (bentonite nano composite) and the removal/separation of Co (II) ions from matrices of environmental sample solutions by MnFe2O4/bentonite nano composite as a magnetic nanomaterial. Through this work, I gained expertise in a range of areas, including hydrometallurgical processes, materials science, and environmental remediation. My contributions to these projects helped to develop more efficient and sustainable approaches to metal extraction and recovery, ultimately benefiting both the mining industry and the environment.

As a lecturer at the University of Applied Science and Technology's Calcimine unit, I taught courses in Mining Engineering, specializing in two key areas: Physical Chemistry of Flotation and Mineralogical and Physico-Chemical Properties of Minerals.During my time as a lecturer, I was dedicated to fostering an engaging and inclusive learning environment that challenged students to think critically and apply their knowledge to real-world scenarios. I utilized a variety of teaching methods, including lectures, group discussions, and hands-on laboratory experiments, to help students develop a deep understanding of the course material.I also collaborated with fellow faculty members to develop new curricula and course materials, as well as participated in various professional development opportunities to stay up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in teaching.Overall, I am proud of the impact I have had on my students and their professional development, and am excited to bring my passion for teaching and expertise in mining engineering to new opportunities in the field.
