Under the direction of the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the Construction & Facilities Manager, is responsible for all activities related to the Foundation’s: •New facilities building programs which will increase the size and scope of its campuses from 100,000 square feet to 500,000 square feet over the next 5 years; •Repair & maintenance of existing facilities; •Building of athletic facilities including gyms, soccer fields and baseball diamonds; •Bringing best practice systems and methodologies to all of Making Waves facilities operations. Responsibilities: •Serve as the primary contact to all construction and R&M vendors and contractors •Provide technical assistance to contractors and vendors as necessary •Provide updates to the CFO and Senior Leadership as necessary to ensure the smooth operation of all projects •Monitor projects to ensure construction deadlines are met •Ensure contractors adhere to the highest standards of Health & Safety rules •Ensure all work areas meet or exceed building codes for school construction •Acquisition of real estate portfolio •Work with CFO to control project budgets and manage additional costs when required
