In my current role, I work in a server support environment and I’m currently using the below technology and undertaking the below activities in my day to day role:Building physical HP servers and virtual machines (VMs) on Microsoft Windows Server 2003, 2008 & 2012 operating systems.Supporting our Cisco Unified Computing System (UCS) and HP Server Blades Virtual Infrastructure platforms.Supporting our Virtual Machine estate using VMware vSphere Client.Supporting and configuring our HP EVA 8100 SAN.Carrying out proactive firmware updates on all our server estate and being involved in various project related work to implement new solutions and improve existing solutions.Using and configuring Microsoft System Center Data Protection Manager (DPM) 2007 & 2012 R2 backup technology.MS System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) 2007 & 2012.Rolling out Microsoft Security Patches using SCCM.Supporting Microsoft Exchange i.e. emails.Using built in Microsoft tools such as DNS, DFS Replication, DHCP, Group Policy etc.Building working relationships with 3rd party suppliers i.e. Microsoft, HP, Sophos etc.
