Ana Rita Ferreira is a Postdoctoral/Junior Researcher at iBiMED - Institute for Biomedicine, University of Aveiro (Portugal). In 2015, she was awarded a PhD fellowship sponsored by FCT, to develop her PhD work at Daniela Ribeiro's lab (iBiMED-Institute of Biomedicine, University of Aveiro) in collaboration with Jonathan Kagan's lab (Harvard Medical School/Boston Children's Hospital). During her career, she has also worked at the Institute of Virology from the University of Marburg (Weber's lab) and Gulbenkian Science Institute (Amorim's lab). In 2020, she was invited to be the SARS-CoV-2 Task Force Coordinator at the University of Aveiro. She has authored 10 scientific manuscripts in international peer reviewed journals, 7 of which as first-author. Currently, she also teaches at the Virology course of the BSc in Biomedical Sciences at University of Aveiro.
