An IRCA QMS Lead Auditor, I audit 9/14/18 systems and CE Marking for certification bodies. As the Business Systems Manager for Scotland I was responsible for coordinating all aspects of health & safety, environmental and quality management systems certification at all construction sites and the Regional Office. This involved conducting site inspections and audits for health, safety, environmental and business systems. My role also involved coordinating visits from certification bodies, considerate constructors, enforcing authorities such as the HSE & SEPA and Client Representatives. Another particularly interesting part of my role was as the Investors in Diversity Champion, which involved providing a mentoring service to all staff and contractors. I was also responsible for monitoring and reporting to Head Office on compliance with key performance indicators for all site and office operational activity across Scotland. I was also a conduit for HSEQ and general business communications, and I also produced a newsletter as well as monthly performance updates. I also had the opportunity to represent the organisation at external events, seminars and workshops and had a couple of fantastic opportunities to deliver briefings at key client events. I led quarterly business review meetings and was required to attend similar meetings at Head Office in Birmingham on a routine basis.

Reporting to the MD, responsibilities included design and implementation of ISO 9001 across a network of six branches. I also developed a Health and Safety and Environmental system. Other responsibilities included Operational Safety, Training; Strategic Planning, Performance Management & Continuous Improvement. Main tasks involved supporting the board of directors on a wide range of business issues, providing guidance and assistance on internal and client-driven requirements, and co-ordinating continuous improvement. During my 5 ½ years with the organisation, main achievements were :  Top-level business strategy development/deployment resulting in implementation of a 5 year service improvement plan and performance management reporting system Completion of FPAL supply chain evaluation/capability assessment tool, resulting in significant contracts being placed with the business Development of corporate complaints, customer satisfaction, customer care, standards of service quality and implementation of corporate standards throughout the business Implementation of a continuous improvement programme utilising EFQM model Design and delivery of numerous training/awareness programmes throughout the business Design and implementation of systems to meet ISO 9001:2000; ISO 14001; HSG65 and Investors in People

Overall responsibility for development/deployment of management systems and Performance Audit function, with line management responsibility for a team of 12. I re-engineered existing management systems of 5 different organisations into a single system, obtaining accreditation for this within the Design and Operations divisions. I also had responsibility for a team of 9 inspectors evaluating and reporting on quality/standard of service provision, accuracy of claims and customer satisfaction. I implemented a continuous improvement programme involving coaching the use of quality improvement tools & techniques. I also had responsibility for best value strategy development & implementation and was also Project Manager for Investors in People. A number of further key achievements were obtained in this field, most notably strategy development, cost reduction systems and improvements in service delivery.Other main achievements were :  Strategy development for quality resulting in award of a 5 year maintenance term contract Development of a comprehensive quality awareness and customer care programmer for all employees including development of a communications strategy Development of a comprehensive supplier assessment programme conducting 2nd party audits of suppliers resulting in Lead QMS Auditor status Development of a corporate customer complaints system

My responsibilities included managing the quality system for maintenance of all regional property and new construction. Facilitated and led quality improvement initiatives and completed ISO 9000 Quality System Assessment training.

I managed the quality management system and internal audit programme. Other duties involved continually reviewing and improving systems to ensure that the requirements of all BS and Military Standards (AQAP) were constantly being addressed and improved.
