As the Business Systems Manager for Scotland I was responsible for coordinating all aspects of health & safety, environmental and quality management systems certification at all construction sites and the Regional Office. This involved conducting site inspections and audits for health, safety, environmental and business systems. My role also involved coordinating visits from certification bodies, considerate constructors, enforcing authorities such as the HSE & SEPA and Client Representatives. Another particularly interesting part of my role was as the Investors in Diversity Champion, which involved providing a mentoring service to all staff and contractors. I was also responsible for monitoring and reporting to Head Office on compliance with key performance indicators for all site and office operational activity across Scotland. I was also a conduit for HSEQ and general business communications, and I also produced a newsletter as well as monthly performance updates. I also had the opportunity to represent the organisation at external events, seminars and workshops and had a couple of fantastic opportunities to deliver briefings at key client events. I led quarterly business review meetings and was required to attend similar meetings at Head Office in Birmingham on a routine basis.
