Research and Project Management: ● Write and edit reports relating to the enforcement of environmental laws and strengthening of environmental policies, especially relating to fossil fuel industry and air and water pollution. ● Oversee projects from development to delivery, liaise with multiple stakeholders, including attorneys, funders, data teams, and partner organizations.● Edited and publicized “Coal’s Poisonous Legacy” national coal ash groundwater report, which was covered by over 400 outlets, including AP, Bloomberg and The Washington Post.● Authored and publicized “Preparing for The Next Storm” Hurricane Harvey report, which was covered by over 250 outlets, including The Houston Chronicle and Reuters. ● Assist research team with data collection and analysis and work with interns. Editing and Management: ● Helped build Univision’s Project Earth from scratch, which reached 500,000+ Facebook followers. Part of editorial leadership team at Fusion Media (part of Univision) before merger with Gizmodo Media Group.● Part of launch team for Earther.com, Gizmodo Media Group’s first standalone environmental site, which reached one million pageviews/month after four months.● Managed several staffs writers, and oversaw work of video, social, and audience teams as related to environmental projects.● Worked with dozens of freelancers on a wide range of projects.Writing and Reporting:● Wrote daily and feature news and analysis pieces on wide range of environmental issues, with special focus on conservation and wildlife, politics and policy, and environmental justice.● Joined Climate Desk partnership; had stories published in MoJo, Slate, HuffPost, Wired.● Produced and hosted popular videos on environmental topics.● Traveled across the country for in-depth reporting trips.
