ATL was founded in 1993, when I learned how to cook memory modules in an Argos grill oven, getting them ready for the Northern Computer Market exhibitions over the weekend. Business quickly outgrew my student flat in the Rusholme area of Manchester, and I moved to new premises in the Imex Business Park, where I ended up renting 15 offices and 7 warehouses. After realising that instead of paying rent I could instead pay off a mortgage and own my own building, Aria House was completed in 2004, providing 35,000sqf of office/warehouse space.Before I started my own business, I had widely varied jobs along the way, while I was dreaming about where I wanted to be. These include: Dispatch Riding in London, Waiting Tables, Chamber Maid, Hotel Receptionist as well working in a chicken factory (in the Giblet room!) My final year degree project (a comms encryption chip) was selected for fabrication and the university sold the design for a significant sum. MSC project was an interface to a smell sensing array that was to be utilised in Ariane Space Rocket.In 2006, ATL acquired Velo Systems (Gladiator Computers) - we are now selling some of the highest performing and best value gaming machines in the industry.After a disastrous implementation of Microsoft Navision (should have known - it sounded too much like “No-Vision!”) ERP system in early 2007 that nearly brought the business to its knees, I project managed our own in-house system that controls sales, warehousing, manufacturing, assembly and automatic stock fulfillment using a reverse auction system.I have extensive experience in REAL LIFE project management. The tools that I developed have helped the organisation to cut costs while increasing productivity.In 2011, I featured on the popular Channel 4 reality show “The Secret Millionaire”I am always looking for competent people with good team ethics who can help me do better business - whether it be in an operational capacity or commercial.
