About Ariadna Phillips

With over 20 years of experience in education, humanitarian work, and technology, I am the founder of South Bronx Mutual Aid, Inc., a community-based organization that provides information and assistance to New Yorkers in need. I oversee operations, strategic partnerships, fundraising, budgeting, and overall development for this equity-focused initiative that has served tens of thousands of people, including recently arrived migrants. I co-lead the development of AyudaNYC app, a free multilingual multi-platform application that offers resources and support to New Yorkers in need.I am also a dual language director at NYC Department of Education, where I coordinate various language programs and design and teach a bilingual computer science program that integrates translanguaging, inclusion, and computational literacies. I have published a study on intercultural education in a public secondary school in the South Bronx, and I have received several awards and recognitions for my community leadership and public service.

Program was sponsored by the Benedict Silverman Foundation and the Literacy Trust, and was hosted at the Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College.
