I believe against population pressure and global climate change our greatest leverage point could be our deeply cultural and personal relationships with food and it's expansive supply chain. I use this belief as the framework to guide everything I do from my individual food choices to the work I participate in. In college, I participated in community engagement initiatives and tried to raise awareness for issues surrounding food security and food packaging waste in my community. I was a founding member of a food recovery network, president of WSU Net Impact, competed for grant funding opportunities, served in two fellowships and tried to learn as much as I could about Agricultural Production. While at WSU I studied Agricultural Production Management, Technology, and Remote Sensing. I also worked in Wheat Breeding Research, and on USDA ARS projects to improve hardware and software communication in rural farm systems. I installed GPS and AB Guideline systems in combines and was the Ag Engineering Labs shop technician. After college I served as an AmeriCorps member at 18 Reasons, a food justice focused non-profit. Here I served as a program coordinator running cooking, nutrition, and food handling skills classes that target food insecure participants. This was a meaningful exercise as it grounded me in the importance of a just and equitable food system and allowed me to interact with the participant it failed to serve. Simultaneously, I worked for Apple Maps as a Process Improvement Analyst, After a few necessary detours to build technical skills in remote sensing and GIS I returned to AG working as a Carbon & Sustainability Analyst for Locus Agricultural Solutions. I worked on Carbon Farming pilot projects from April 2020 until August of 2021 when I was promoted to scale the pilot to a nation-wide program for all Row-Crop Producers. Upon accepting, I worked to develop an "Environmental Platforms" department which under my leadership scaled from two founding members to a team of 20. We established Agricultural Land Improvement projects where we worked with farmers to monitor soil health improvements. This program is still active and growing!Proud of the work I did at Locus, but eager to scale impact further, in January 2023 I made the decision to join Arva Intelligence; an AI Agronomic technology company leveraging innovative solutions to scale climate impacts in Agriculture. I currently serve as the Director of Customer Success where our department supports Channel Partners in their journey to generating Environmental Assets on behalf of Farmers.
