Intellectual Property Paralegal
● Organize attorney docket and calendar appointments per attorney’s specified availability.● Manage client portfolios; maintain dockets; serve as point of contact for clients’ intellectual property matters and for outside IP counsel; provide advanced notice of upcoming deadlines.● Initiate and manage invoices; ensure payment for completed work.● Mitigate attorney workload via template and response preparation, proofreading, and filing.● Routinely audit IP management database ensuring accuracy. ● Prepare and assist attorneys in executing various patent prosecution filings for US and foreign applications; i.e., provisional and non-provisional, utility and design, divisional and continuation applications, etc. Prepare and audit appropriate formal application documents.● Assist in trademark application clearance and prosecution of U.S and foreign filings; collect viable specimens; obtain evidence in trademark conflicts, such as oppositions, infringements, and cancellations; order and review searches; prepare renewals for submission.● Prepare templates for office action responses, annuities, assignments, petitions, preliminary amendments, and Information Disclosure Statements, etc. for attorney filings.● Attend to copyright prosecution; research requirements; initiate in proceeding preparations.● Proficient in USPTO Legal Framework, Salesforce, Adobe applications, Outlook, Word, Teams, PerfectLaw, EFS-Web, PAIR, TEAS, TESS, TSDR, WIPO, Espacenet, & Patentscope.
