I am a poet and an artist. My poetry readings have been performed both in person and online. I have performed readings in nursing homes, conventions, churches and special DOVE (a non-profit domestic violence organization) Candle-light services. One special presentation that I have written and performed is called "A Normal Kind of Love," which is a personal account of my own domestic abuse story. My poetry readings can also be found on Youtube, TIK-TOK and a poetry podcast that I do from time to time titled, "Spoken Word Poetry Podcast," which can be heard on Spotify and several other podcasting platforms. I have published collections of poetry - both my own and for other authors. In the past, I have also published anthologies, with one being titled, "Dreamscapes," which includes about 60 authors from all over the world. Books that I have published can be purchased both on Amazon and Barnes and Noble under my name, "Ariana R Cherry."As an artist, I specialize in small artwork such as ACEO's and ATC's. Some of my prints have also been 4 inches x 6 inches or 5 inches x 7 inches. Some years ago, I illustrated a children's book titled, "Bullying Ben" which can be purchased on Amazon. My art has placed first several times in our local county fair Fine Arts Department and sold online in Facebook Shops, Etsy and eBay. I have also given art lessons to young children at my church. I tend to gravitate towards fantasy art, nature art, simple surrealism, abstract art and cartoon art. I do carry a day job or two when I am not writing or creating art. I am an Administrative Assistant for the Arthur United Methodist Church and a reporter for the Sullivan News Progress and the Arthur-Graphic Clarion.
