Topic: Development and commissioning of remotely operated test equipment for astronomical site testing. • Developed a measurement station from scratch to commissioning in only 10 months. • Selected, purchased and tested suitable, cost-effective components. • Designed the mechanical and electrical setup as well as weatherproof housing for instruments. • Assembled the network of instruments and peripheral equipment to be remotely accessible and controllable. • Programmed routines in Perl to readout instruments and a website with HTML5/CSS3 to illustrate data.

Verification of the Attitude Control System (ACS) of the satellite "Flying Laptop" by the University of Stuttgart. Feasibility study for "Flying Laptop" successor program. • Programmed Matlab routines to evaluate data of fiber-optic gyros. • Conceptualized and performed cleanroom tests to inspect magnetometers, sun sensors, gyros and star trackers. • Supported the software development team with transformation matrices vital to determine and control the attitude of the satellite. • Collaborated with PhD students and research assistants in a phase A study for a new satellite. • Negotiated with professors to determine possible payloads their institutes could contribute.

Internship in the Production Office for Satellite Mechanisms. • Contributed in the LISA Pathfinder project and the Laser Communication Terminal (LCT) for the European Data Relay System (EDRS) satellites. • Assisted in assembly and testing for the flight qualification of the LISA Cage & Vent mechanism in class 100 cleanroom environment and higher. • Created and edited test reports and non-conformance documentation. • Coordinated and planned procurement and fabrication of highly time-critical parts for the LCT project. • Worked closely with subcontractors and in-house manufacturing, inspection and shipping to ensure lean production and maintain the tight schedule.
