Hopelab is a social innovation lab and impact investor, working at the intersection of tech and youth mental health. I joined Hopelab specifically to run a pilot efficacy trial testing the impact of a mobile app used as part of the Nurse Family Partnerships evidence-based program for low-income, first time mothers, and for several years worked as an in-house researcher across a portfolio of interventions. I currently am building out an equity-focused Learning & Impact unit to shift the way we learn from our projects and partners + explore new ways to measure the change we seek to make.

Founder/operator of a strategic advisory firm worked to to disrupt the narrative that pregnancy and parenting precludes entrepreneurs from successfully running or growing their companies. TEE services and solutions were uniquely tailored to directly support early stage, high growth founders so that they can plan with their health, their company’s sustainability, and their investors in mind. Products included strategic advising, master classes, group programs, professional speaking, and a practical guidebook to help design a custom parental leave roadmap (still available at www.theexpectingentrepreneur.com)We partnered with entrepreneur support organizations (VC, incubators, accelerators, membership organizations) so that entrepreneurs can access parental leave information from the experts they trust to guide them in other aspects of their business growth.

The Women in Leadership program supports the leadership development of women across the Bay Area, raises up a multitude of women’s experiences, establishes a pipeline for professional advancement, and creates a cross-sector network of women who support each other’s career growth.

16 month appointment to the Trainee Ambassador Committee for the MCHB Division of MCH Workforce Development. In collaboration with 10 other federally trained MCH professionals, I developed and implemented strategies for providing current trainees with ongoing opportunities for leadership development and mentorship.

Research support for the following projects:Evaluation of the Durham Multi-Agency Collaboration to Enhance Service Delivery to Immigrant Victims (Office of Violence Against Women):Process evaluation for cross-agency collaboration formed to provide comprehensive services to undocumented immigrant domestic violence survivors (May 2011-January 2012).Victim Service Toolkit for North Carolina DV/SA Agencies - NC State Governor’s Crime Commission (Grant #180-1-09-050-AV-233)Conducted systematic literature review; development of toolkit funded by the to expand agency capacity to assess and evaluate services; adapted for agencies serving racial/ethnic minority populations. (August 2010-June 2011)Expanding Newborn Screening - National Science Foundation (SES-07510132)Conducted in-depth interviews with Spanish-speaking participants; transcription and translation of clinic visits and follow up interviews; coding and analysis of data for the Spanish-speaking cohort. The work was recently published by University of Chicago Press in a book called "Saving Babies? The Consequences of Newborn Genetic Screening." (Sept 2009-July 2010)

Trained in folkloristic film technique, my work as a documentary filmmaker looked at the intersection of Global Health and Cultural/Ethnic Studies. My experiences range from teaching, facilitating collaborative projects, curating festivals and gallery exhibitions, and presenting my own work in the international film festival circuit.

Planned and facilitated community advisory board, administrative team, parent and staff meetings; secured City Development Block Grant funding and conducted program evaluation every five weeks; delivered college preparatory services and homework assistance; developed and implemented culturally relevant workshops and peer counseling curriculum; piloted Saturday youth academy; designed curriculum focused on leadership development and community organizing; planned and facilitated weekly workshops, retreat, community service event, and graduation ceremony for program participants.
