About Arianna Taboada, Msw, Msph
I'm a lifelong learner and community builder, currently geeking out about emergent learning, multiple ways of knowing, centering community voice in measuring systems change, and building more equitable and collaborative organizational cultures. If you ask those around me what I am like as a leader and colleague, you are likely to hear the metaphor of my being “that person at the back of a canoe”: folks trust me to steadily steer through rough waters. I strive to be attentive to the needs of the people around me, take careful stock of the environment we are in, and offer direction as to where we can go, together. I am known for being able to move myself and others through ambiguous, tense situations with calmness and dignity. By training, I am a maternal health researcher and public health social worker who has worked in the US and Mexico. Over the years I have worked in community and school-based health settings, academia, social innovation organizations, and philanthropy, as well as the founder/operator of a boutique consulting firm. I have had the privilege of working alongside many different communities (immigrants, survivors of intimate partner violence, pregnant/parenting teens, etc) on a variety of health issues and some of those contributions has been published in peer-reviewed journals in the fields of health education, social work, prevention science, and health equity, as well as in book format (www.theexpectingentrepreneur.com).I approach my work with thoughtfulness, purpose, and a deep commitment to pursuing a more just world. As a bilingual, binational, bicultural individual, I am in my zone of genius when collaborating with folks from diverse disciplines and backgrounds to imagine and create new possibilities for how we center dignity on the road to achieving positive outcomes. Most days you’ll find me deeply listening, noticing patterns, and collaboratively building new possibilities in and outside of work.
Listed skills include Community Outreach, Grant Writing, Qualitative Research, Public Health, and 13 others.
