Arian S. Email and Phone Number
As a trained anthropologist, I believe that value and meaning are created within shifting social relationships. This insight is at the core of my product development process. To expand upon Weber, we are not only suspended in webs of significance that we ourselves have spun. We spin and evolve these webs in response to our encounters with others. This leads to the discovery of new landscapes of meaning. The desire to understand how people create meaning, construct their worldviews, and derive value from their experiences drives my professional philosophy. It applies to social networks and how communities are being redefined. It informs the feedback loop of technological innovation and process change. It leads to understanding the practices that foster successful collaboration inside and outside the workplace. Problems are rarely linear and when viewed in the right way, are often opportunities for innovation. I believe in rigorous, evidence-based practice in research, product innovation, learning, and visual communication. I strive to use emerging methodologies to discover novel insights and develop sustainable work processes. I have a strong belief in mentorship—the ability to collaborate in teams to cultivate self-sufficiency and foster creativity. Mentorship encourages win-win collaborations where team members are encouraged to think critically and effectively. This supports product development and innovation within the structure of their organization. My skills:-Deep content analysis, grounded theory-Qualitative methods: focus groups, ethnography, interviewing-Product development-Project management-International project coordination-Visual communication & graphic design-Marketing & advertising-Teaching & mentoring-Workshop development-Writing & editingMy Tools:-Atlas.ti, Nvivo-Adobe Creative Suite-LMS: Blackboard, Schoology, Moodle-Wordpress, Joomla, vBulletin-CSS/HTML-MS Project, Basecamp-Style guides: Chicago, APA, AMA
