Work on the EFI Chief Economist Climate Team to perform economic analysis of climate change and climate policy

With the Department of Energy’s Decarbonizing Energy through Collaborative Routes and Benefits (DECARB) project, explored behavioral considerations in consumer adoption of distributed solar PV, electric vehicles, and heat pumps, and incorporating behavioral realism into energy system models.

Contributed to Country Climate and Development Reports (CCDRs) in Latin America & the Caribbean and Europe & Central Asia

Performed quantitative and qualitative research on the energy transition, sectoral low- carbon innovation, and evidence-based climate policy, both independently and as part of cross-institutional teams. Used the energy-environment-economy model E3ME-FTT- GENIE to explore specific mitigation scenarios.Projects:• Led the Prince of Wales Global Sustainability Fellowship in Radical Innovation & Disruption: collated and contributed to research, prepared a final report, and engaged with key stakeholders to incorporate innovation and systems thinking into private sector action on decarbonization.• Quantifying policy interaction: how different types of decarbonization policy instruments in different sectors can interact constructively and destructively.• Analyzing risks and opportunities for deep decarbonization in India, China, and the UK (supporting the EEIST project).• Investigating the impact of electricity storage costs on uptake of variable renewable energy.• Contributing to development of a standalone version of the FTT:Power model for open-source simulation of technological diffusion and the low-carbon transition in the electric power sector.

Wrote, maintained, and trained others to use custom software which distributed over 3.9 million postcard addresses leading up to the 2021 Georgia Senate runoff election.

Wrote backend software and full-stack web applications to support Axiom’s innovative thermal energy storage technology. Gained experience in Python and JavaScript as well as Docker, DroneCI, InfluxDB, MongoDB, AWS, Rancher, React, and Flask.

Led TA sessions for problem set and lab clarification and assistance, helped professors with grading, provided personalized support to students.
