After growing up in the Midwest of the United States, the majority of my professional life has been spent living abroad. In the summer of 2019, my wife and I moved to Hong Kong and began working at Stamford American School Hong Kong. I began as a Cover Teacher & PE Teacher and fast forward three years, I am now the Team Leader for Grade 5.I lived in Shanghai from 2009-2011 and then after a few fulfilling years in the United States, heard the calling to move back abroad to one of the largest cities in the world in the summer of 2016. My role in Shanghai was a 5th Grade Homeroom Teacher, Subject Teacher, and PE Teacher at Shanghai High School International Division-Pudong Campus. Each day was both rewarding and challenging working with 10-year olds; my students kept me on my toes and help me enjoy coming into work each and every day.I served as the Athletic Communications Director at McPherson College in McPherson, Kansas from January 2012 to June of 2016. It was a very fulfilling job that was packed with sports from morning until past midnight most days. Working at McPherson College taught me a lot of lessons about hard work and attacking each task with a positive attitude.Prior to working at McPherson College, I lived in Manhattan, New York as my wife attended Columbia's Teachers College; I enjoyed living in the Big Apple and would highly recommend it to anyone. Following my four years at Southwestern College, I married my best friend, and flew with her across the Pacific to live and work abroad in Shanghai China teaching International students at SHSID; another experience that I'd highly recommend. We enjoyed it so much, that after five years back in the US, we headed back out to China to continue teaching abroad.
