As a fellow of the Faculty of Impact, I focus on starting a new venture to bring tolerogenic vaccine technology developed at Utrecht University to the clinic as a novel therapeutic for autoimmune diseases.

My work at Utrecht University is focused on the development of laboratory assays to detect antigen-specific immune regulatory responses.

Coordinating investigator of the TOLERANT trial at the University Medical Center Utrecht. In this phase I/II clinical trial, we assess the safety and immunological effects of tolerogenic dendritic cell vaccination in rheumatoid arthritis patients. The goal of this intervention is to restore the natural process of immune regulation.In my role, I am involved with all aspects of the trial, ranging from day-to-day management and regulatory affairs to patient inclusion and laboratory analysis.
