Its an awareness raising project for changing behavior for hygiene practice in 4 (four) provinces in Indonesia; South Sulawesi, NTT, Papua and West Papua. By targeting 22.500 school children and over 54.2500 communities benefitted from the project of WASH. We constructed 200 latrine facility included with empowerment for construction management, maintenance and campaign. Program was designed in collaboration of Consortium consisted of CARE International, UNICEF and Save the Children in supporting Local Government/AMPL in National to District level.

The Main activity was an emergency response for Merapi Eruption affected people in Jogjakarta and Central Java. CARE worked by partnership with KOMPIP (Local organization) for supporting refugees in temporary camps. Distribution basic needs in kits (Shelter kits, hygiene kits, baby kits and children kits) as NFI (non food items). DRR program released as the transition from emergency to early recovery by small workshop and awareness raising campaign in the middle of community both in camps and villages. Construction latrine in camps as a support system provided for 10 big camps.

Managed Shelter project including; training for 1000 beneficiaries targeted for DRR and Early Recovery Empowerment for Earthquake victim in Sungai Garingging and Batang Gasan Sub District – West Sumatra. Giving the technical empowerment for community to build temporary shelter and transitional shelter, training for mason to build safe earthquake concrete frame. It was included awareness raising campaign such as Radio Campaign program, Construction Clinics, Mason Training (theoretical and on job training/practical) for 57 safe frame housing model in 19 villages.

Under the Construction Department and taking responsible for all Design for School (Education Sector), Clinics (Health Sector), Water, and Sanitation Facility (WASH Sector) for Save the Children – Tsunami Program for construction in Pidie, Pidie Jaya, Biruen and Lhokseumawe areas-Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam. There were 1025 prefabrication houses, 42 elementary school buildings and 39 health centre/clinics buildings built as the achievement.
