Hello!👋 I am Ariel, a passionate and determined perfumery and cosmetic science student and an aspiring entrepreneur looking for a flexible job that will open up opportunities for growth and learning. My passion and love for perfumery came about when my school invited the CEO of Six Senses, a locally founded fragrance company, to share about his experience setting up his own company. I was very intrigued behind the whole process of making the fragrance to the designing of the packaging and was amazed at how there was so much work and experimentation done behind the making of perfumes. This led me to consider the possibility of creating my own perfume and starting my own company; having a strong interest in research and development, as well as entrepreneurship, also motivated me to look more into the fragrance industry. Soon one thing led to another, I ended up studying a diploma in perfumery and cosmetic science and that was when I knew this was a profession I wanted to pursue.I have experience in the F&B sector, mainly focusing on customer service and sales. Working at a part-time job has allowed me to build my resilience and adapt quickly to new environments, giving me the opportunity to learn from different people in the industry. Studying a diploma in perfumery and cosmetics has allowed me to become proficient in many skills such as in thin layer chromatography, formulation, using equipment such as the viscometer and pH meter, and identifying raw materials in cosmetic products. As such, I look forward towards my internship in perfumery and hope grow more through experience and challenges while keeping my past experiences in mind. I am excited for what the industry I am pursuing might bring me as I step into the working world with an open mind.Despite my love for perfumery and cosmetic science, I have never stopped myself from pursuing my interests. Currently I am holding the position of Secretary/Treasurer in Singapore Polytechnic's School of Chemical and Life Sciences Constituent Club, which has given me the opportunity to lead numerous events as well as manage and plan the budget of the school. With my love for the outdoors, I have gone to attain a 1 star certificate in Kayaking and am hoping to get my level 1 in rock climbing soon.
