As a member of the Surface-IL, I:* Tested Performance and Integration of Surface touchscreens, trackpads, and pens.* Carried out analysis of firmware and middleware reading outputs using software developed in-house, such as Sigmund (a distributed system utilizing micro-service architecture) and VVTool (a sequencer designed for Pen and Touch testing on Surface devices).* Automated the preparation of Surface devices for the CI/CD pipeline through the development of PowerShell and CMD scripts, significantly reducing the need for manual intervention in this daily task.* Developed a Python-powered PowerShell script to streamline the firmware burning, calibration, and recording process for Surface trackpads, enhancing the efficiency of a large-scale firmware recording research project for the System team.* Collaborated with Data Scientists in the ZFI research to test performance issues of the pen's inking capabilities at different angles on Surface touchscreens* Collaborated with Firmware developers in typing speed experiments using a robot and finger simulators to on different devices adjusting for different heights to test and compare performance.* Identified critical bugs affecting writing quality, particularly jitter issues, caused by faulty middleware upgrades and employed the "Binary Search" approach to isolate the exact version of middleware where the bug first appeared.* Created and maintained several guides, manuals, and other documentation on the internal Wiki pages.* Used Azure DevOps for Version Control and Bug Tracking.* Practiced Agile/Scrum methodologies, collaborating with System Engineers, Developers, Data Scientists, IT, and other stakeholders within the Surface department.
