Arielle Stonitsch holds a Master of Architecture, Master of Arts in Design for Sustainability, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Architecture.She is a native New Yorker, whose roots belong to the great Adirondack Mountains that has developed a deep understanding of the culture and vernacular of the Capital Region. Additionally, she has traveled to the coasts of the nation, built homes in Haitian communities, and walked the streets of international cities.During her time in Savannah, she was integrated into a historic and diverse community that developed social, economic, and environmental programs towards a more sustainable city. She took these perspectives to develop a broader understanding of sustainability at the global, regional, and local levels. Her undergraduate studies, additionally, included such topics as architectural history, historic preservation, structures and construction technology, environmental controls, and sustainability.After graduate school, she took on the challenge of operating a small business while completing training with the United States Marine Corps. Her focus was to align sustainable theory with military advancement to limit foreign and domestic conflict through resource allocation, distribution, and security. Due to an unforeseen injury, she was discharged from the military and sought positions in higher education, design and marketing.She is a supporter of civic and cultural organizations; has been involved with Yes! Solutions, Habitat for Humanity, and sustainability advocacy.Outside of A/E/C interests, she is a graphic designer, dog owner, and military supporter.
