Lead and manage Finance and Human Resource Departments of NCS Education System (including various campuses).

I was responsible for assessment of the internal control system, accounting and financial system, books of account and policies and procedures for effectiveness and implementation of relevant controls. I outline my findings and presented to management along with recommendations for improvement and mitigate deficiencies in the system. I also develop policies and procedures for specific areas in accounting and financial system, where policies were non-existent or lacked sufficient control. I am also responsible for the following:• Review and assessment of accounting system, accounting treatment of transaction;• Extracting trial balance and preparing full set of financial statements including statements of financial position (balance sheet), profit or loss/income and expenditure, cash flows and shareholder’s equity and notes and other explanation to the statements; and• Preparing financial projections and budgets.

During my association with KPMG as Manager-Audit, I have managed and finalised around 40 audit and assurance engagements per annum. The engagements included:A) audit of financial statements in accordance with:1) International Standards on Auditing (ISA);2) Auditing Standards Generally Accepted in the United States (US GAAS); and3) US Government Auditing Standards (US GAGAS).The financial statements were prepared and presented in accordance with the following frameworks:i) General purpose frameworks including:a. International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS); andb. U. S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP)ii) Special purpose framework including:a. Specific accounting policies based on an accrual basis of accounting; andb. Cash receipts and disbursements basis of accountingB) Agreed-upon procedures engagements, which were conducted in accordance with the International Standard on Related Services 4400 Engagements to Perform Agreed-upon Procedures Regarding Financial Information.C) System and Compliance Audits with the following scope:• An assessment of the main risks to the achievement of the objectives of the entity;• An assessment of whether the design of the Internal Control System sufficiently mitigated the risks and whether it was operating effectively;• To determine whether the entity complied with agreement terms and applicable laws and regulations related to the entity.D) Assurance Engagements other than Audit or Review, which were conducted in accordance with International Standard on Assurance Engagements (ISAE) 3000, Assurance Engagements Other Than Audits or Reviews of Historical Financial Information issued by the International Auditing and Assurance Standards Board.In addition to the above, I used to manage 5 to 8 teams of 2-6 persons each. I was also responsible for recruitment of audit trainees and audit supervisors. I was responsible for preparing engagement proposals to respond to the RFPs/RFQs/TORs.

Executed financial audits by performing field work and assisting Manager-Audit in finalisation of the audit engagements. Performed the following functions:- Review of internal control system;- perform controls testing by assessment of the design of internal controls and testing operating effectiveness of those controls;- perform substantive testing including detailed testing and analytical procedures; and- draft and finalise audit deliverable including audit report, transmittal letter (letter to the Board), management letter (internal control deficiencies memorandum) and review of financial statements.

Worked at different levels in the fieldwork for audit engagements including as Audit Assistant and Job In-charge. Executed financial audits by assisting the Job In-charge and Manager-Audit in finalisation of the audit engagements. Performed the following functions:- Review of internal control system;- perform controls testing by assessment of the design of internal controls and testing operating effectiveness of those controls;- perform substantive testing including detailed testing and analytical procedures; and- draft and finalise audit deliverable including management letter (internal control deficiencies memorandum) and review of financial statements.
