Research AssistantNorth Carolina State University Jan 2016 - Feb 2020Raleigh, North Carolina, UsDoctoral Thesis: Fabrication of Q-carbon and diamond by ultrafast nanosecond pulsed laser annealing and hot filament chemical vapor deposition (HFCVD) for electron field emission.★ Research Assistant, NSF center for Advanced Materials and Smart Structures, North Carolina State University (PhD program)• Designed and developed a electron field emission (FE) setup for FE measurements on quenched carbon (Q-carbon) prepared by pulsed laser deposition (PLD) and nanosecond pulsed laser annealing. • Direct conversion of carbon nanotubes and nanofibers into diamond nanostructures by ultrafast nanosecond pulsed laser annealing. • Developed wafer-scale high quality diamond thin film deposition process on sapphire by hot filament chemical vapor deposition (HFCVD).★ Lab Manager (MSE, NCSU): Laser and thin film deposition lab, HFCVD lab, and Electrical transport property measurement lab. (January'2017- February'2020)★ Courses: EE Courses: 1. Conventional and Emerging Nanomanufacturing Techniques & Their Applications in Nanosystems, 2. Flexible electronics, 3. Fundamentals of Semiconductor and Quantum Electronic Devices, 4. Semiconductor Lasers, 5. Special Topics in ECE/Product Innovation LabMSE Courses: 1. Materials Science in Processing of Semiconductor Devices, 2. Materials Science of Nanoelectronics, 3. Defects in Solids, 4. Elements of Crystallography and Diffraction, 5. Fundamentals of Transmission Electron Microscopy, 6. Mechanical Behavior of Engineering Materials, 7. Modern Concepts in Materials Science -
Teaching Fellow & Research AssistantUniversity Of Pittsburgh Swanson School Of Engineering Aug 2015 - Dec 2015Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, UsWorked as a teaching fellow for undergrad level ECE courses and performed research. -
Graduate AssistantMissouri State University Aug 2013 - Jul 2015Springfield, Mo, UsMS thesis on "Investigation of Electrical and Magneto Transport Properties of Reduced Graphene Oxide Thin Films"Project-1: A Study of structural, electrical and optical properties of wafer-scale reduced graphene oxide (RGO) thin film. (3 peer-reviewed journals) Developed the fabrication of wafer scale RGO thin films by pulsed lased deposition technique and characterized the film by XRD, Raman spectroscopy, Photoluminescence and SEM. Correlated the charge carrier mobility with different level of reduction on RGO thin films and determined the optimal process parameters in order to get higher charge carrier mobility. Improved the growth process by tuning the growth parameters to obtain extremely large positive (160%) and negative magnetoresistance.Project- 2: Fabrication and characterization of standalone Copper oxide nanoparticles and ZnO-CuO nanocomposite for improved photovoltaics & photocatalytic applications (3 peer-reviewed journals) Hydrothermally synthesized standalone Copper oxide nanoparticles and ZnO-CuO nanocomposite and characterized the nanostructures by XRD, Raman spectroscopy, Photoluminescence and SEM. Optically active nanostructured phase mixture of copper oxides were used to fabricate nanopowder-thin film (CuO-ZnO) solarcell devices to obtain η ~2.9%, which exceeded all the reported values for ZnO/CuO based solar cells. Investigated the growth mechanism and optimum composition of ZnO and CuO to achieve better photocatalytic activity under UV-vis spectroscopy.Courses: MAT 770 - Vapor Synthesis of Materials; MAT 760 – Experiments/Physical Characterization ; PHY 675 - Quantum Mechanics; MAT 720 - Advanced Quantum Mechanics; MAT 681 - Structure of Solids , MAT 640 - Thermodynamics of Materials; MAT 790 - Statistical Applctns/Matrls Sc; MAT 651 - Intro to Materials science.
