Sbcc Lead
CurrentMarie Stopes is the leading provider of Family planning and ReproductiveHealth services in Uganda. As the SBCC Lead, I oversee projects supported or funded by FCDO, UNFPA, USAID, WORLD BANK, DANIDA, WELL SPRING and AMPLIFY CHANGE.Under the SBCC function, I lead a team of 22 direct reports driving demand generation and SBCC activities in rural Uganda. I developed and implemented the RISE SBCC strategy. I developed and implemented internal and external communication. strategies to promote sharing, learning, and interactive dialogue among staff I build capacity for over 20,000 Community-Based mobilizers and VHTs. I developed the Marie Stopes communications, branding, and media guidelines for each of the projects. I support the development of program proposals and budgets. I collaborate with the MEAL team to develop measurement mechanisms for campaigns and ensure that implementation and impact are effectively monitored and evaluated.Under the Advocacy function I identified advocacy opportunities and targets at local, national, regional, and international levels. I collaborated with partners to define and develop studies and inform advocacy campaigns. I have participated in the development of the SRH bill, adolescent health policy, and the National Health Policy. I participated in building consortiums and SRH movements. I monitored advocacy risks and developed mitigation strategies. I developed evidence-based advocacy messages, documents, and strategies Coordinated high-level advocacy engagements with members of parliament, partners, private sector, and interfaith dialogues at both national and sub-national levels.
