Intro-level astronomy students at Williams must complete observing projects as part of their class. As the TA, I operate Hopkins Observatory's 24-inch Cassegrain telescope, CCD camera, and accompanying software (TheSky and Maxim) as well as 8-inch Celestron telescopes. Additionally, I host observatory open houses when the skies are clear after the Friday.

Assisted in the calibration and construction of a chopper, a vital component of the CAST experiment. The goal of the CAST experiment is to search for solar chameleon particles. The chopper will alternately block and unblock the beam of particles, creating a detectable, periodic signal.
