Hi, my name is Ariana Martinez; I am a creative, out-of-the-box thinker who loves to tell a story. Part of that story includes my own. As a Transgender Latina Woman in Marketing, my journey includes overcoming adversity and obstacles, which inspires me to tell the stories of others. I have ambitions to work in Brand Management and Strategy, and throughout my journey, I have had the luxury of many opportunities. Throughout the years, I have had to work various part-time jobs. It wasn’t meant for me; however, I was always intrigued by the stories of my coworkers. Eventually, I went to school and discovered my passion for Marketing, and this passion changed the tides of my journey.Some great opportunities came when I joined the American Marketing Association (AMA) at CSULB. During my first semester of transferring here, I knew I wanted to do Marketing and was excited to join AMA. As a new general member, I spared no time getting involved. I joined the Philanthropic Committee and Events Committee to learn the process. During this time, I also was a Social Media Coordinator for the Amazon Hub on my campus. Both those opportunities led me to become the Sponsorship Director and part of the AMA student ran marketing agency Agency 241 as a Social Media Coordinator. As I continued to grow, I became the Social Media Marketing Intern at INNOCEAN USA and Vice President of AMA. INNOCEAN was a huge step forward because not only did I learn so much about the world of Digital Marketing, but I discovered my purpose. With all the growth I gained from social media and digital marketing, I got to work with Brand Managers and saw how much I loved it. I love telling a story, and once I saw what it meant to be one, I knew what I wanted to do. One day I hope I can inspire others through my work, just like others have in the past.
