I was responsible for the Cloud Engineering Tribe, that is responsible for Cloud Architecture, Multi-cloud strategy, Cloud Platform: Application/Serverless (Funcitons/Kafka) and Infrastructure (Kubernetes), Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/Ansible), Cloud Well Architected Framework and FinOps enabling cloud services to be consumed as a platform in our internal self-service developer centric portal. We create and enable services running on the cloud, improving our time-to-market, being cost-efficient/secure, decoupling the dependencies between the systems/products. We were promoting an Event Driven Architecture (EDA) and Serverless approach, helping squads with different levels of maturity to take advantage of the benefits and minimizing the risks during their journey.Enabling services with Engineering Culture in mind, interacting with our internal customer (Architecture/Engineering), and making new services available in a engineering fashion: leveraging doc as code, github centric to enable versioning and creating ways to work evolve together through Issues and PRs, and making them available in our developer centric self-service portal.

I am responsible for the Cloud Engineering Squad. Creating a roadmap that enables new cloud services aligned with the company strategy and helping the engineering squads to enchant our customers focusing on what would create more value and diminishing the engineering effort along the way.Our goal is to put in practice a framework composed by the Technical Reference (why, how and what) of new cloud technology/services, defining the best practices and putting in place through the second step: Infrastructure as Code (using the shift-left approach in Terraform/Ansible library), creating the ways to Provisioning the Cloud Infrastructure (and the entire lifecycle: create, update, remove) and managing the use with a Well Architected Framework, leveraging the CSPs recommendation, but also metering with our own rules with a Cloud Custodian policy as code engine.We are also part of the FinOps culture measuring if we are optimized and reviewing continuously our process to enable and use cloud.

I was responsible for developing projects related to cloud and DevOps. My main goal is to understand the customer needs and maturity on DevOps/Cloud and help them leveraging Trend Micro technology to deliver security with low impact on the agile teams.Part of my role is about technology, showing how to integrate security in a devops world: pipeline, some integrations/automations, data-driven: events/dashboards, security analysis as KPIs for software engineers. The other part is about how to show that it could be part of the developers culture, and think about security similar to how we think about quality in software development.

I was the tech manager and product owner of Platform Engineering squad, responsible to deliver an integrated platform to enable all the product squads to focus on business problems and opportunities. The platform provides services like: ci/cd pipeline for application lifecycle management (jenkins/circleci/sonar...), runtime infrastructure with kubernetes (multi-cloud design) and landing zones defining cloud accounts design and connectivity with on-prem with private links, monitoring focusing on applications performance and availability (observability stack - newrelic/elastic), infrastructure as code with Terraform and cost management. The goals were: decrease the delivery cycle keeping the quality level under control, avoiding setup sprints to each new app and leveraging CI/CD automation to all squads, increase the overall efficiency and the leverage of technology usage - balancing the benefits of using new tech approaches and the risk. Our team was not responsible to be just a technology provider, but also promoting an engineering culture, keeping open channels with the product squads and promoting the exchange of experiences, lessons learned and best practices.

I worked as a pre-sales to cloud projects - mainly AWS, Azure and OpenStack. My main goal was to promote security for the cloud , helping to balance security with speed required to deliver better time-to-market and digital transformation, helping customers to elaborate better approaches to provide speed without losing control and visibility. Another important aspect was to promote security as a service and change a little the "audit/block" way to deliver security and showing security as a strategic way to deliver Availability. I created some demos using a DevOps approach (continuous integration / continuous delivery) and strategies to show how to leverage security tools to deliver important information to agile teams, in order to help them to create better planning and run fast with security. Providing transparency to integrate and deploy security controls as part of the infrastructure (including security in the infrastructure as code) provisioning process. Using the visibility (leveraging automation, APIs, analytics) to present security information in the same context as the application is monitored. Using Trend Micro Deep Security APIs to show how to integrate environments that do not have native integration using some scripts written in python.As a sales engineer I also worked making presentations in events, attending interviews and generating content (blog posts) to promote security in the cloud.

My role was very related with Infrastructure automation, describing and deploying infrastructure as code using Ansible/AWS Cloudformation, keeping the infrastructure description versioned with the application release. I worked very close to the development teams, living the devops culture, this experience change a lot the way that I used to see technology.My team had the mission to help the developers since the planning phase to the delivery (promotion to production) and ongoing. In the most part using blue/green deployment method to deploy the infrastructure and Scrum to keep the it planning and deployment align with the application development.One of the challenges was to create mechanisms to describe and create infrastructure maps/topologies to keep tracked all the components and their relationship between themselves and with other application environments.
