About Arisa Lawhon

I am currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Social Work at the University of Texas at Austin. With an extensive background in volunteer work throughout my community, I am passionate about giving back to those around me and creating a welcoming environment. I have numerous experiences in caring for foster children and those with special needs, ranging from young children to adults. After working and volunteering at the humane society for two years, I had the opportunity to oversee the care for the animals and assist with adoptions. I enjoy devoting my free time to the community and have background knowledge with project planning and management as I created a volunteer-based project that served meals and carried out activities for families at the Ronald McDonald House Charities. I plan to use all these experiences that have shaped the person I am today to make a difference as a social worker.
