About Arístides Senra Díaz

Best Achievment: Co-founder of actúaupm, the entrepreneurship program of the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM): The Program has created more than 330 startups in twenty editions. These companies have attracted funds from private inverstors amounting to more than 260 million euros since 2007.Bio:I have experience in innovation and entrepreneurship, highly focused on hands-on innovation, detection of new business opportunities, new projects launching, business development, marketing and customer orientation.After finishing my degree: a six-year program in Industrial Engineering, intensification in management (BSc Industrial Engineering, MSc Management), I have been working in several engineering and consulting projects. Fortunately, I could also keep studying and I could finish an internship on Entrepreneurial Marketing & Marketing and Sales in High Tech Companies in the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and an International MBA in UPM.I am cofounder of actúaupm, an university-based Entrepreneurship Competition and worked in a couple of firms before accepting a leading role in the Global Entrepreneurship Program in UPM, focused on building high growth potential tech-based firms. The Program has detected more than 6,000 ideas, advised more than 1.000 teams, and supported the creation of 330 new ventures that have attracted more than 260 million euros from private investors.I am currently the Director of Innovation & Entrepreneurship in UPM and lecturer in Business Opportunity, Business Modelling, Marketing and Entrepreneurial Communication in the International MBA Program in the University. More recently I became responsible of the International MBA Programs at UPM. For five years, I`ve been Associate Professor of Innovation and Entrepreneurship for the European Institute of Innovation and Technology.
