Born and raised in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Aristote Hekima is an American University and the University of Southern Maine graduate with a Master in Forensic Accounting and a Bachelor in Accounting—with honors. He originally spent about 3 years in the Financial Services Audit & Assurance practice at Deloitte before deciding to join the Global Private Equity firm, Carlyle Group, where he serves in their Fund Controller & Reporting practice; primarily covering some of the firm’s high—performing funds, including Japan and the Americas leverage buyout.Aristote Hekima is a CPA. A Swahili, French, Lingala, and English speaker, he is passionate about answering the most challenging and complex Private Equity cases, access to quality education for everyone, and the issues of African development. Outside of work, Aristote happily serves as the Chairman of the Hekima Foundation, a nonprofit venture, that helps empower African immigrants to pursue a high quality education through mentorship and financial assistance.
