Computers fascinate me. So does Science on a molecular level. I have combined these two into my career. Using the power of high-performance computing, I explore biophysical systems through the lens of Equilibrium and Non-Equilibrium Statistical Mechanics. I am currently involved in a multi-year project as a PhD scholar from the Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati, in areas dealing with: - Aggregation pathways of antimicrobial peptides - Inhibition of snake venom toxins using peptide inhibitors - Phase separation of a hydrophobic deep eutectic solvent in the presence of nanomaterial surfaces - Dissolution of hydrophobic molecules by hydrotropes - Encapsulation of a host molecule by a supramolecular guestTo answer these specific questions - I run molecular simulations using AMBER, GROMACS, and NAMD - Enhance simulations using Umbrella Sampling or Adaptive Steering - Employ Unsupervised ML techniques like Markov State ModellingThe simulations generate massive data from which I try to make sense using codes written in Python 3, FORTRAN, and Tcl/Tk.I am currently working in a team consisting of researchers from multiple disciplines. I have communicated my findings in peer-reviewed journals and presented my work at various International conferences. My thesis work has been funded by the Department of Biotechnology, India. Other than collaborative roles, I have also mentored interns on self-designed projects.
