During the summer months, Collegiate Scholars take courses in humanities, social sciences, and mathematics taught by University of Chicago faculty on the University of Chicago campus. Throughout the academic year, scholars engage in a series of enrichment activities focused on leadership development, civic engagement, college advising, and cultural exploration. Founded in 2003 and operated through the University of Chicago's Office of Civic Engagement, the Collegiate Scholars Program (CSP) is a three year program designed to encourage high achieving and underrepresented Chicago Public Schools students to apply to and succeed at highly selective colleges and universities.

Hospitalist and Comprehensive Care Program Project - Learn how to administer interviews with hospitalized patients.- Gain patient interaction experience.- Help improve patient care.- Develop communication skills.- Network with physicians, nurses, and other research assistants throughout Chicagoland.- Shadow physicians within the section of hospital medicine.- Enrichment semina r series covering a range of topics, including motivational interviewing and the ethics of consent.- Receive mentorship from those with years of research and clinical experience.
