In my role as project controls manager and engineering manager within Boskalis, I am typically involved in large and complex civil construction projects. At present, I am involved in a dike reconstruction project in The Netherlands. Recently I worked full time internationally in joint ventures. My responsibilities include client communication, strategy development, management of consultants and management of professionals. As a member of the project management team, I am involved in general project management as well. As Design & Innovation Manager of the Pulau Tekong Polder construction project (Singapore), I was responsible for the day-to-day management of a team of engineers working on design and engineering aspects of the project. Besides, I was overseeing a number of consultancy and research initiatives related to the development of the polder. My core competences most valuable for this assignment include client communication, management of professionals and long-term project planning / strategy development. Initially, my involvement in the project started when I was responsible for the tender of the Boskalis / Penta-Ocean Construction Joint Venture as tender manager.As General Manager of Hydronamic (the in-house engineering consultant of Boskalis) I was responsible for the day-to-day management of some 60 professionals working in areas like civil engineering, offshore engineering, environment and engineering management. My responsibilities included human resources management, competence development, quality assurance, project control and strategy development.Apart from work, I can become very excited about offshore sailing (including maintenance work of our wooden sailing yacht), Iceland and European history.Specialties: - Management of professionals- Engineering management- Building with Nature (eco-design for civil engineering)- Integrated coastal zone management
