As an ecologist at Wageningen Environmental Research, I aim to develop and apply innovative DNA-based biomonitoring tools to assist studies on the distribution and dispersal of natural species. Currently, my research focuses on assessing the effectiveness of measures implemented to to sustain (functional) diversity or population vitality in natural and agricultural ecosystems. By providing a better knowledge basis for selection of effective measures, I assist trajectories towards a nature-inclusive society and agriculture.As senior researcher and project manager, I am responsible for the acquisition and management of interdisciplinary research programmes, and the coordination of the WENR Laboratory for Ecological Genetics (involving a team of 3 researchers and 3 lab technicians). This includes methodological development, coordination and execution of research and publication and dissemination of research results to national and international stakeholders as well as the international scientific community.
